The Breast Cancer Walk

This saturday I had a wonderful day. I got up early and drove to Nickie's house so we could drive together to go to downtown SLC for the Race for the Cure, The Breast Cancer walk. There were over 17,000 people there. Woman, men and children were there to support this wonderful cause. As Nickie and I were walking we would look around at all the people who were all walking for this cause and we both had to admit that we were getting emotional at the sight. There were survivors there that had a shirt that said, "We will find a cure." As we got to the finish line, and hour and four minutes later, we saw one woman who was a survivor who was so emotional. She looked as if she had just under gone some treatment and you could just tell she was so grateful to be at that race.

I also think this race was especially emotional to me because I work with a wonderful woman who was just diagnosed with Breast cancer. I think it's so important to support this cause not only for her but for so many women and men who this affects. Joaquin's mother is also a survivor of breast cancer and I think this is something that hits home for so many people, especially women because we all know someone who has or has had breast cancer. If it was a sister, a mother, a best friend or ourselves, we've all been affected by this horrible monster. So I guess if any of you have the chance to walk or run in the breast cancer walk, do it. It is a wonderful and very fulfilling thing to do.
