The Boys Are 4 Months Old Today!

Just wanted to give a little update on how the boys are growing. We went to the Dr's office today for their 4 month, wellness check up and she said they are doing really well. She said that they are right on track for full term babies actually. Here are the results;

Everett Julian:

Weight: 14lbs 8oz
Length: 24 inches
Head: 16 1/4 inches

Brock Carson:

Weight: 16lbs 1 oz
Length: 25 1/2 inches
Head: 16 3/4 inches

So Brock is still bigger but not by much. The thing that I thought was weird is she said Everett is in the 30 percentile and Brock is in like the 80th. That's nuts to me because it doesn't seem like there is a huge difference between them. She actually asked us what we were feeding them and I told her they have been mostly on breast milk up until the last 2 weeks. She asked what formula they were on and I told her it is NeoSure which is formula for preemies and she said there is no need for them to have the extra calories so to take them off of it when we run out. She said with in the next month or so we can start them on rice cereal and once they are used to that we can start them on veggies. I'm SOOO excited. They should be good eaters, I mean, look at their parents! (Seriously!) We'll see how that goes. We'll have to buy a couple of high chairs to start that. Can't wait. Also can't wait for our weather to get better so we can start spending time outside. While we were in California, they loved being out but they weren't used to the wonderful breeze. It seemed like every time there was a gust of wind they would breath deeply like they were trying to catch their breath. It was funny. Hopefully they'll get used to that as soon as it warms up. I hope!!!

Tummy Time with Brock and Everett

Sweet chubby Brock

Everett is so hard to get to smile with the camera in front of his face. I'll get him to smile and then I put the camera in front of his face and this is the result. I think that's the funniest picture ever.
This is the closest to a smile I could really get from him.

The boys having tummy time. Brock is so smiley. He's laughing more and more everyday. Everett smiles a lot more but it's hard to capture.

Don't they look cute? Dumb question, I know. ;)

More pic's of people who came to meet the boys...

Everett, Me and Sindy

This is Joaquin's Uncle Gary. He came all the way over to my parents just to meet the Twins. I thought that was SOOO sweet of him. He's such a great guy. We really enjoyed visiting with him. He was great with the boys too.

My Mom giving Everett a bath. She's probably going to kill me because I put this picture on here but I think it's funny. She's such a good grandma. She helped me so much again. (While she wasn't at work.)

Everett and grandpa....(geez maybe Everett is a little spoiled. I think it's because he cries more....poor Brock.) I love this picture of my Dad.

This is Auntie Kris and Uncle Jeremy. Sure do miss the fam.....!

It was really nice being in California because I didn't really do much or go anywhere other than stay at my Mom and Dads but everyone came to visit us. I didn't have to really go anywhere but I always felt like there was something to do because I constantly had people coming over to visit. I told Joaquin I want to move back to Sacramento and he said no way. Oh well. That just means eventually everyone will have to start moving out this way. I don't know if that will really happen or not but I can dream can't I?

Some of the many visitors that came.

This is my dear friend, Deyra. She and I worked at Kaiser for a few years. I trained her on how to use the phones. She was so quiet at first and then we just became such good friends. I loved seeing her and so did the boys. Can't wait to see her again when we go back in May.

This is Auntie V and Uncle Jon. Veronica met the boys back in January when she came out to help me for a week but this was Jon's first visit. He just loved them. He favored Brock a little bit because he said Everett was getting all of the attention for his Auntie V. So funny.

Melina with her baby cousin. Totally faking sleeping. Love that Melina.

This is Auntie Gina and lil' Bethany. Oh my gosh, Bethany is sooooo cute and she's so big and she just loved helping with the boys.

This is my niece Val feeding baby Brock. She's super good with babies. Would love to have her around. ;)

Some pic's of our California trip

This picture about explains how I felt the first day of driving....haha, just kidding serena. This is little Lucas getting mad because we kept having problems.

This is Kyle trying to fix the flat tire we got about 10 minutes onto the interstate. Oh man we're off to a good start!

Serena trying to cheer up Lucas.

Me in the back of the van with the twiners. I was just laughing because it took us about an hour or two to get everything packed in the car and not even 10 minutes into the drive, we get a flat tire. Oh my gosh. The joy of road trips.
So let me just say, I really did have so much fun going to Sacramento. I was super nervous the first day, the boys started to fuss a little bit and at that moment, I announced to everyone in the car, I don't think I can do this. I was thinking once I got to CA that I would either have to fly home or stay there forever, or at least until the boys could sleep longer than 3-4 hours at a time. Don't worry, we made it home all in one piece. (Once I took a chill pill.) So again, the first day was a little overwhelming to me but then the second part of the drive was crazy for the Martineau's. Lucas and Austin both had ear infections. Lucas was constipated and had to be helped being relieved, (I won't go into detail.) Then Kyle burned his arm on a hot pipe under the car reaching for a piece of paper. Lucas then got hives all over his body. WOW! I have to say the second day was a lot more eventful for the Martineau's than it was for me on the first day, but man what an adventure.
