The Boys Are 4 Months Old Today!

Just wanted to give a little update on how the boys are growing. We went to the Dr's office today for their 4 month, wellness check up and she said they are doing really well. She said that they are right on track for full term babies actually. Here are the results;

Everett Julian:

Weight: 14lbs 8oz
Length: 24 inches
Head: 16 1/4 inches

Brock Carson:

Weight: 16lbs 1 oz
Length: 25 1/2 inches
Head: 16 3/4 inches

So Brock is still bigger but not by much. The thing that I thought was weird is she said Everett is in the 30 percentile and Brock is in like the 80th. That's nuts to me because it doesn't seem like there is a huge difference between them. She actually asked us what we were feeding them and I told her they have been mostly on breast milk up until the last 2 weeks. She asked what formula they were on and I told her it is NeoSure which is formula for preemies and she said there is no need for them to have the extra calories so to take them off of it when we run out. She said with in the next month or so we can start them on rice cereal and once they are used to that we can start them on veggies. I'm SOOO excited. They should be good eaters, I mean, look at their parents! (Seriously!) We'll see how that goes. We'll have to buy a couple of high chairs to start that. Can't wait. Also can't wait for our weather to get better so we can start spending time outside. While we were in California, they loved being out but they weren't used to the wonderful breeze. It seemed like every time there was a gust of wind they would breath deeply like they were trying to catch their breath. It was funny. Hopefully they'll get used to that as soon as it warms up. I hope!!!

That is so fun that they are growing so fast. I guess my little Sadie is just that LITTLE. She weighs just in between your boys at 15 lbs and she is 9 months old.. Sawyer is bigger than Brock but only by a few pounds as he came in at 18 lbs. Guess I really do need to start feeding them more!I thought I was doing so well with that.. They were on that Neosure as well for awhile, maybe I should try some of that again to get them fattened up!:) Where is your pediatrician at? Ours is at the Grow Up Great in Bountiful by Lakeview Hospital. That is cute that they liked playing outside, when we took Sadie and Sawyer out just a few weeks ago to play in the grass they were not so sure about that. Since they were so tiny last year they didn't go out much last summer so it will be way fun to see how they like it this year! Your kids are so cute and I am glad that they are doing so well.

So fun! AJ loves to be outside and feel the wind in his face too! Actually, he loves it when we blow in his face and ears. Why? Not sure, but it keeps him happy! I'm dying to meet the little guys! If they don't like rice cereal at first, try oatmeal. AJ hated the rice cereal, but now I give him oatmeal w/ bananas & he likes it much better. Good luck with the feeding thing. . .

So much fun! I'm glad that they are doing and growing so well! Mercedes went into the doc today, and she is only 13 lbs. 14 oz. and she is 7 months old! :) That...and girls usually don't weigh as much as boys. hehe

If you don't get highchairs right off the bat before you're ready to give them solid foods, just feed them in their carseats. That's what we have done until they are better at sitting up anyway. It makes it easier to feed them, too, because their heads are moving every which way. It's fun to start them on solids, though...so have fun!!
