The time finally came for our two little boys to make it into this world at 35 weeks. Everett Julian Ficker was first born. He weighed 4lbs 2oz. His little 'big' brother, Brock Carson Ficker was born at 5lbs 12oz. You can tell who's who by the pictures because Everett is still so much smaller than Brock. (Although he's smaller, he's a fighter. We can tell that already for sure.) So because the boys were born early they had to go to the NICU for 9 days. Everett was on oxygen for the first day and the second day the RN came in and saw him with the oxygen tube in his mouth, sucking on it. She decided then, there was no real need for it. Both boys had jaundice. Brock had it for a little longer so he had to stay under the bluelite for a couple more days than Everett. Both boys are obviously home now and doing wonderfully. We both feel amazingly blessed to have these two little boys in our lives. Joaquin has been the best Dad and husband. I get a little emotional thinking about what a good man I've married.....I did a good job picking him out, that's all I can say. :) I have to say thank you to my dear cousin Serena, she is the wonderful photographer who took these pictures of the boys. She is so great. Not only as a photographer but as a best friend. Thanks for everything.
