just a jot....

So what if we don't have a camera, I still have a computer which means I am still able to put down thoughts on this silly little blog I have.

Nothing new has really happened in the last few months. We took a trip down to Zions a couple of weeks ago. My parents came to Salt Lake and we had hoped to take a trip to Moab since no one, except for myself, had been before. It was going to be our very first camping trip with the boys but there was a freeze warning so we decided to not to die, and chose to go to St George Utah instead. Which was good because the weather was super warm and I have been having some winter blues this year.

So the boys keep getting smarter and smarter everyday. Our little tricks of bribery and threats are no longer working on them. They have figured out we are usually bluffing when we ask them if they want their bottoms spanked when they climb out of their cribs during nap time. Yes, I still have them in cribs. Up until 2 weeks ago, they hadn't figured out how to climb out of them. Well my luck has now ended. I used to have it so good. I would put them to bed at 9pm and they wouldn't get out of bed until 8:30am, sometimes 9:00am. Well, my friends, all things come to an end, and getting to sleep in at the Ficker residence is no longer a luxury we have. Every morning around 6:55am we hear the door to our bedroom being pushed open and slammed against the wall, with two little ones that come in after with big smiles on their faces. They are so proud of the fact that they have crawled out of their cribs and come to wake us up from our sleep. I had it good once, that's all I can say.

Things really are changing with the boys and I do love it. Just yesterday Joaquin and I took them to "Chuck-up-Rama" and we had so much fun. Joaquin had got some vanilla pudding to give the boys while I had some chocolate pudding of my own. Well, he was feeding Brock and told him it was yogurt. Everett wanted some "yogurt" too and so I told him to have some of mine. When I gave him some "brown yogurt" he looked very concerned and said, "No, ice cream!" I know that's something so insignificant but I just laughed because it's hard to trick them anymore. They are smart little buggars and I love it. Brock had a good time under the table picking off old gum from the bottom of the table and getting it in his hair and all over his clothes. It made me think of Will Farrell from Elf when Santa tells him "First off, you see gum on the street, leave it there. It isn't free candy."

I can't figure out how to change this lettering back to normal so I suppose that will be it for the night. I just thought I should jot some things down because I was talking with my best friend tonight telling her how I don't ever update anything because we don't have a camera and she told me I should still blog even if I don't have pictures. So here I am, doing what I am told. Thanks Bec. I love you!!!

You are so obedient- doing what you are told! I love the update on the boys. They are smart little boogers, and Isaiah is our family scavenger too. He won't eat dinner at the table, but will crawl around on the floor hours later and eat the hard crusty cheese, hot dogs, etc. Nice!
